Road themes are trust, love, faith and doubt also paternal evil, the play road its about a young lady that has a boyfriend called Joey and he was her only hobby but then she was saying that he's out of her ideas because Clare is unsatisfied being with him all the time. She has a car but she has lost all her aspirations because she lost her office job and she lost all her ambitions, she always had to handle a lot of difficult situations. Besides to have a destination and know where to go, Clare is quite insecure about her self because she says now I am saggy from tip to toe, she wanted to exercise to keep fit and keep her mind busy also her general knowledge for example her thinking skills. she could not afford to buy new clothes so she has to wear the same clothes over and over again, although its about her mum being depressed because they cant afford to buy food or new clothes also cant even put the heating on. Clare is a women that knows what she wants in life but she is confused on what to do now, because she lost her job and her family is poor and cant even afford to eat a lot and she is really insecure about her body, so that is who Clare is as a young lady.
The thing i did to practice my monologue was write post it notes and highlight it with two different colours and stick them on my mirror to memorise the lines, also i learnt each line one by one and repeated it which helped a lot for me to slowly learn most of the lines and words of the top of my head. The clothes i am going to wear when i record myself for the monologue are quite modern and really casual for example a turtle neck top and tight jeans The props i could use are a magazine, a cup of tea, and a blanket although a packet of tissues.
